Happy New Year From Norfolk

Sue and arrived in Norfolk VA on January 1st, 2011 - why wait we thought - and so we start our journey!

We were greeted with 18C and plenty of sunshine. Although we expect the weather to be a bit cooler over the next few weeks we are well outfitted with appropriate clothing. Sue in particular is ready for a march to the south pole just in case we over shoot! The boat was in good shape and nothing was frozen. I have to say there were a number of times watching the weather in Norfolk that I was getting concerned, however, it seems to be fine and we have the heat running to keep everything toasty.

There are a couple of new items to add to the boat that will keep us working away for the week and we will take some time to do a little touring in Norfolk to see what there is to be seen.

We would like to wish all our family and friends the very best of health and happiness in 2011 - we could not have gotten this far without you and we are truly grateful for your love and support.

Talk soon!

  1. Good on you for getting away from winter as soon as possible. 18C and sunny sounds pretty good right now. I look forward to vicarious adventures through your imminent postings. :)

  2. Hey Guys! All the best in 2011. Going to be a great year. Your picture here looks great. But I have a concern...if the smiles are this big now...what is it going to be in a few months. Also, will you remember what snow looks and feels like. Happy Boating.
p.s. Remember Scott... A "Captain" is just a figurehead. The First Mate really runs the show.
