What's in a Name?

You might be surprised how hard it is to select a name for a boat.  We did not want to select anything too cheezy, trendy, funny or hard to say.  We wanted it to be meaningful to us, but at the same time simple.  To make it a little more difficult still, Sue is a little superstitious and added to the challenge with her list of "must not be":
  • 13 letters long;
  • start with the letter "O" (don't ask me why);
  • be pretentious or boastfull;
  • or tempt fate ie. "unsinkable".
Even with all that in mind credit to Sue for leading the charge and coming up with options and finally our selection.  Sue used the Internet to search on an number of themes one of them was to look up family names.

My mother's maiden name is Maxwell (that's the Scottish in me!) and the family crest is shown in a number of ways but most commonly with a Stag and Evergreen at the top and the family motto is Reviresco - "To Grow Young Again" or "To Flourish".

In either translation it seemed to fit our mindset quite nicely so we went to Transport Canada to verify if the name was in use. It was not, nor did it sound like any other name and so it was granted to us!  We are now the proud owners of the one and only registered "Reviresco" flying the Canadian Flag nationally and internationally.

We hope that everyone enjoys the opportunity to "Grow Young Again".
