Family and friends drop by for a visit

This first week in March, we are hosting Claudia and Alastair, Scott’s mom and dad from Ottawa. They arrived in Fort Myers, FLA on the Gulf side last week and spent a few days with friends Marijan and Perica in a condo in Naples – a very posh neighbourhood in FLA and worth a drive through if you can manage it.

Marijan and Perica dropped mom and dad off and took time to tour the boat and have a quick visit. They were also kind enough to drop me off at the Publix for quick provisioning post-teens. Did we mention they ate a lot?! Marijan is an avid photographer, so I took time to pick his brain a little as well on photography on the water. Mom and dad will visit with us for a week before joining friends Sandra and Bob in Deerfield, FLA. Sandra and Bob were the friends who dropped off Kyle and Rebecca last week, as well as a load of tasty treats. The ricotta pie and carrot cake were a hit – no time to take pictures of them!

As March is now facing us, our attention is turning towards Bahamas planning. We have our Lewis and Lewis maps, our Bahamas chart plotter disc and our courtesy and quarantine flags ready to go. Now we need to stockpile food, water and supplies over the next couple of weeks, and monitor for that sweet weather window. More on this later…
